About us
We're Kalivoro.
If you're reading this, you're probably trying to figure out whether we're the real thing or just another website selling something. That's fair. Here's who we are, in our own words.
Two founders, one idea
Kalivoro was started by two people — one French, one Belgian — who set out to build something that mattered, rather than something that just made money for a while and disappeared.
That sounds simple, but it shaped every decision we've made. We didn't want to chase whatever sold fastest. We wanted to start with something that actually helps people in their daily lives — and then do it the right way.
Why we started with hearing
This one started close to home. My grandfather has trouble hearing, so it's something I've seen up close rather than read about.
What caught our attention was the gap between countries. Back in France, where one of us is from, this kind of care is largely covered — getting help isn't something you have to think twice about. In the United States, it's a different story. The same kind of device can cost thousands of dollars out of pocket, and a lot of people simply go without because of the price, not because the help doesn't exist.
That contrast is really what pointed us here. The technology to hear conversations more clearly is real, and it works for everyday mild to moderate hearing loss. The thing standing between people and that help was mostly the cost. That felt like something worth doing something about.
What's inside ClearHear
We want to be straightforward about what this product is, because a lot of people have been disappointed by "cheap hearing devices" before. Usually, what they tried was an amplifier — something that just makes everything louder, background noise and all. ClearHear is built to do something more careful than that. Here's what's inside:
- 8-channel digital sound processingInstead of turning everything up at once, it splits sound into separate bands and handles them individually, lifting the frequencies where human speech sits — the ones that usually fade first.
- Adaptive noise reductionWhile it brings voices forward, it eases down the steady background noise of a room or a restaurant. The aim isn't louder. It's clearer.
- Rechargeable battery, up to 15 hours per chargeYou set it down, it charges, and it's ready for the day. No fiddling with tiny batteries.
- Three ear tip sizes — S, M and LMost ears can find a comfortable, secure fit straight out of the box, without measurements or an appointment.
Small enough to sit quietly in your ear — that's the point.
Every part is there for a reason — and that's also the honest answer to why we price it the way we do. The quality inside is real, and we'd rather keep it than strip it out to chase a lower number.
Why it costs less than you'd expect
People are right to be cautious when something costs a fraction of what they were quoted. So here's the plain explanation — there's no catch.
We sell directly to you, with no chain of distributors, retailers, and clinics each adding a margin. And because the device is designed to be used straight out of the box, you're not paying for the appointments, the office, and the fitting process that a traditional route bundles in. That's a real service, and for some people it's worth it — but for everyday mild to moderate hearing loss, most people don't need all of it.
We took the cost out of the process, not out of the product.
What we're really trying to do
We'll be honest about something: yes, we're a business, and we're glad when people buy from us. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
But we also decided early on to build this in a way we'd be comfortable explaining to anyone — without invented experts, fake reviews, or pressure. We'd rather someone return ClearHear and feel respected than keep something that didn't work for them.
Hearing is where we're starting. Over time, our hope is to grow Kalivoro into something bigger — to keep finding everyday essentials in health and wellbeing that have been priced out of reach, and put fairer alternatives in their place. One at a time, with the same care behind each.
We're early. Thanks for taking the time to get to know us.
